Tata Tiago EV Launch Date : Revealed In India: Expected Price, Specs By Ali Shah.
Tata Tiago EV Specs And Price In India (expected)
Tata has yet to announce the specifications of the Tata Tiago EV. However, the upcoming electric hatchback is said to share the same platform powertrain as the Tigor EV, which was launched in India last year. Currently, Tata is selling his powertrain options of Tigor EV.
The upcoming Tata Tiago EV is said to share one of two powertrains with the Tigor EV. The Tigor EV's fleet variant's low-output XPres-T powertrain produces 41bhp of horsepower and 105Nm of torque from a 21.5kWh battery unit, offering a claimed range of 213km. The battery can be charged in just 1 hour and 50 minutes via a 15kW DC fast charger.
Further Details
A stronger powertrain that the upcoming Tiago EV can share with the Tigor EV produces 75bhp horsepower and 170Nm of torque, delivering a range of 306km from a 26kWh battery. It can be recharged in just 1 hour and 5 minutes with a more powerful 25kW DC fast charger.
Design And Appearance
The design and appearance of the Tiago EV are said to resemble internal combustion engine models of hatchbacks. However, EV can make minor cosmetic tweaks that give the car an EV-like feel, like the blue highlights and accents seen on Tata's Tigor EV and Nexon EV. Additionally, it's unclear if the Tigor EV's split battery pack will be part of the Tata Tiago EV, but part of that split battery pack is placed in the trunk of his Tigor, so it's possible that Tata will be doing the same. It will be interesting to see how it implements. In a hatchback if they decide to put the feature in an upcoming hatchback EV. ( also read )
Next Availability
The next Tata Tiago hatchback EV is expected to be available in India at an affordable price. We'll have to learn more about pricing and features on launch day. Tata Motors today launched its all-electric hatchback Tiago EV in India. Additionally, India's very strict import laws double the cost of vehicles made in other countries, so many manufacturers fear doing business in India. Tesla has been planning to enter India for several years, but has been reluctant to commit to manufacturing locally until imports prove demand. Calls for a temporary rollback of import duties to test demand and hopes to build giga factories in the country if it can be justified through sales. Unwilling to oblige, Tesla again put that plan on hold. But, the restrictions from foreign competitors created obstacles in this way.
Restrictions from foreign competitors have allowed Tata to maintain a commanding lead in India. According to Reuters, the company's Tiago EV operating costs are expected to be about one-seventh that of gasoline vehicles. This makes the development of the car a "compelling proposition," said Shailesh Chandra, managing director of Tata Motors and his EV subsidiary. She added that the pursuit of lowest cost is not the goal, but rather making connected cars and other technologies accessible while remaining affordable. And, the all-electric version of the popular Tiago will be popular everywhere.

The vehicle, an all-electric version of the popular Tiago his hatchback, is priced at just Rs 849,000 ($10,370), which is below the national average, making it very competitive in the market. But Tata has a clear edge in his EV market in India for many reasons. For domestic manufacturers, Tata has slashed the price of his Tigor EV, once the most affordable EV, by more than his $4,000. Bad news: Tato, he also builds the Tigor EV. So Tato just dominates the affordable EV market. Tiago.ev has seven trim levels and two base level products he brings to the table with a 19.2 kWh battery pack. Other vehicles have 24 kWh packs. The cheapest option offers 250 kilometers or 155 miles on a single charge. At other trim levels, the range is as high as 315 kilometers (196 miles). Tata also includes his 8-year, 160,000-kilometer warranty on the battery pack and motor, and his 3-year, 125,000-kilometer warranty on the vehicle itself.

Changing Of The Name
However, the number of Zika (Zika) fever patients has increased rapidly, mainly in Central and South America. Tata hastily announced on February 2, just before the opening of the Delhi Motor Show, that it would change the name of the ZICA to avoid confusion with the Zika fever. Tata has announced a new name for the car, TIAGO. The name was chosen from a public competition. The TIAGO will be launched in the Indian market at the end of March.
Next-Generation Hatchback
Mayank Pareek, President of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicle Division, commented, "We are proud to announce the name of our next-generation hatchback, TIAGO." Indian automaker Tata Motors' new Jika on display at the 2016 Delhi Motor Show in Greater Noida, India. Indian automaker Tata Motors said on Monday it would rename its new hatchback, originally called Zica, to Tiago. Earlier this month, the company said it would change the name of a new car that sounds similar to the Zika virus, which is spreading in Central and South America. The statement of the company was crystal clear.
The company said on Twitter, "We are proud to announce our new name 'Tiago' after a Twitter hashtag titled #FantasticoNameHunt." The company said it received more than 37,000 applications for its new name campaign. India's PTI news agency, citing a statement from Tata Motors, said that the "Tiago" is scheduled to go on sale at the end of March.
Tata Owns Spanish Soccer Team FC
Tata owns the Spanish soccer team, FC. Recently, customers have become more advanced-oriented, and demand for premium B-segment hatchbacks is increasing. The market has long been dominated by the Hyundai Elite i20 and the Suzuki Baleno, but Tata's new Altroz is entering the market. This time, I test drove the new Altroz on the roads of beautiful Jaisalmer.
The Altroz will be the first commercial vehicle to adopt Tata's new modular platform, ALFA. The design of the radical 45X concept has been firmly inherited, and the integrated front grille and headlamps are particularly distinctive. It is said that the design elements of Altroz will be inherited to Tata cars that will appear in the future.
Shooting Star Belt Line
If you look at it from the side, you'll notice that the lower part of the window is painted black. This part is called the "shooting star belt line", and the rear door handle is hidden in the C pillar part. There are conspicuous press lines around the wheel arches and door panels. The shape of the tailgate is quite elaborate, and it is integrated with the LED tail lamp. The body size is a little wider than its competitors, but the wheelbase is short at 2,500mm. The rear overhang is fairly short, but the long bonnet and fairly well-proportioned bonnet make it look pretty stylish compared to its competitors.
Doors
When I tried to enter the car, I was surprised that the door opened to a considerable angle. Altroz has all four doors open up to 90 degrees. If you open it that far, it's difficult to close the door after sitting down, but at least it's easy to get in and out. The dashboard, which is a combination of black and silver, looks pretty good. An infotainment screen is arranged in the center so as to protrude upward, and the operation system is partly shared with the Harrier. The steering wheel, which has a special design, can only be tilted, not telescopically adjusted.
Seat
The height of the seat surface of the driver's seat can be adjusted, and the comfort of the seat itself is also high. However, I felt that the support was a little lacking. The flat-bottomed steering wheel is a little unwieldy, and the position of the turn signal and wiper levers feels a little strange. Overall, though, I have no major complaints. The armrest material is soft and high quality, and the silver accents here and there add a touch of luxury.
The front seats have sufficient headroom and shoulder room, and there is no problem with the interior space of the rear seats. In addition, the floor of the rear seat is flat, so there is a sense of openness. The rear seats are also equipped with armrests, but they are not split-folding.
Space
The luggage compartment capacity is an average value of 340L, but the opening area of the tailgate is wide and the lower end of the opening is low, making it quite easy to load and unload luggage. There is also plenty of storage space inside the vehicle. The glove box has a cooling function and has a capacity of 15L, and there is storage space in the center console and in the door area. Drink holders and umbrella storage are also available.
In terms of equipment, the high grade "XZ" is equipped with a single-zone automatic air conditioner (with a rear seat outlet), keyless entry, push engine starter, auto lights, rain-detecting wipers, electric door mirrors, cruise control, and ambient lights. It is also compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety equipment includes dual airbags, seatbelt alarms, vehicle speed sensitive door locks, ISOFIX mounts, cornering lights, and child safety locks. The sound of the cylinder gasoline engine is loud and can be heard clearly even inside the car, but even though it is a 3-cylinder engine, vibration is suppressed to a minimum. The clutch is light and easy to handle, and gear shifting is reasonably smooth.
The Engine
The gasoline engine lacks performance in the low rev range, but it excels in the medium rev range. The responsiveness at 2,500 to 4,500 rpm is good, and it responds immediately to accelerator operation. However, since the gear ratio is wide, it is difficult to accelerate in high gear. In addition, the engine sound becomes quite noisy when turning to the high rotation range.
Suspension
Suspension felt noticeably stiffer. In the high-speed range, it can handle bad road surfaces well, but the ride comfort in the low-speed range is not so good, and the noise from the suspension is also a concern when driving on rough roads. However, it handles undulations well.
Driving Stability
Driving stability is high in any speed range, and steering response is also good. However, the steering feel was unsatisfactory, and I was worried about the roll in the corners. Braking performance was very high, and thanks to that, I was able to drive with confidence.
